“Money Matters” was the topic of conversation for Session 2 of our Autumn FEOignition programme. Following on from “Is there anybody out there” led by Jonathan Elvidge the delegates came along buzzing with ideas on how to pitch their ideas, this year these have been anything from children’s toys to laundry, recruitment to massage.
This second session in the series brought FEO members Tony Platts and Gary Hainsworth to the front to host an evening of Q & A’s and group participation in a panel led format. This strong panel was made up of representatives from our key partners Lloyds Bank, Smailes Goldie and KC as well as some of last year’s FEOignition delegates Barefoot Biltong and now FEO member Allan Rice from Atom Beers, all of whom had given up their time and experience to help these start ups make a sound start.
Questions came thick and fast from the delegates around topics such as pricing, planning, forecasting, growth and raising finance and who better to answer these questions and to offer practical help and guidance were those panel members.
Starting a business can be a lonely daunting experience however this session brought together all these like minded people and enabled them to openly ask questions in a fantastic environment. Now home to FEOignition the sessions are held at The Sewell Studios which create a fabulous place for business engagement, giving the opportunity for all to mingle, present their business ideas and spend time with like minded people.
As we build up to Session 3 “Making it Happen” delegates and FEO members have been networking and chatting with each other, sharing thoughts giving feedback and assisting with the tasks/homework set for following weeks…
