Prior to the company’s incorporation in January 2007, Jonathan worked for a local modular building company for 8 years. After starting on the shop floor as a welder/fabricator Jonathan worked his way through the company progressing to General Manager.
During 2006 Jonathan was approached by the Forestry Commission to design a re-locatable temperature controlled building that would be used to store game meat. After producing the designs in his spare time he was asked if he would be prepared to go one step further and manufacture the unit, in an instant Jonathan accepted the challenge!
Jonathan handed in his notice and also sold his house to raise the working capital to fund the business, looking back this was the biggest risk of his life. Seven years on the business has developed into an established manufacturer of portable and re-locatable buildings for use in food industries and has delivered units to every corner of the UK. Currency the business is developing a hire fleet of re-locatable cold stores available for long or short term hire contracts.
Fisher Engineering Ltd. won the Hull Daily Mail ‘Start Up’ Business of the Year award 2009.
