In 2017, Tom began working for 4 Cladding Services, which was set up in 2003 by his father.

Over recent years, the baton of the family business has been passed to Tom, who now manages the business alongside a newly appointed senior leadership team.

4 Cladding Services has been in business for 20 years. It hires, sells & services vacuum lifting equipment to the construction sector across the UK. Predominantly used with cladding composite panels as well as glazing.

Industar is a new venture for the group of companies and operates as a separate business, which has aggressive growth plans.

This business sells, and contract hires electric tow tugs into many different sectors for moving wheeled and trailered goods around factories, warehouses and yards.

Between the businesses, turnover is c£3.5m and employs 14 team members, all located in Gilberdyke, East Yorkshire.

Tom’s background is wide-ranging, including entrepreneurship and the corporate world. This includes stints in Edinburgh, Newcastle, Sydney & Auckland, working in Finance, Banking and Insurance.

With the custodianship of the family business, Tom is balancing protecting the legacy business with ambitious growth plans, which include diversification and the development of a “HoldCo” & investment company.
