Thomas Donohue

Thomas studied Business at both The University of Hull and University of York, before embarking on a career in the helping professions.

Not knowing what a ‘proper job’ looked like, or what direction I wished to pursue, I Joined Focus in 2008 in an administrative role. I soon found that I enjoyed developing relationships with employers and commissioners and listening to how health, particularly the mental health of their employees had an impact upon their businesses.

At a time where employee mental health was seen as secondary to physical issues, championing the need for emotional support in the workplace is something our organisation has been actively engaged in since our formation in 1997.

Our more recent developments include partnering with NHS commissioners across East Yorkshire, and the North East, with Focus now providing care and treatment for thousands of patients annually, in both the private and public sectors.

Focus has recently moved to its new Head Office in The Fruit Market, consolidating its physical position in the region, something we’re incredibly proud of.

Focus continues to pursue growth, we’re passionate about extending our care into as many points of access as possible.
