Pam Wainman

Pam Wainman started her career in a Freight Forwarding Office working for a Dutch owned Company as a Receptionist. Very eager to learn new skills in other departments Transport & Imports/Exports, moved quickly through the ranks, working for the company for several years in their Northampton office when the company re-located. Then later took up a position back in Hull for a Shipping Agent looking after the Hapag-Lloyd Indonesian Agency.

My early key to success was working with older experienced colleagues always keen to help, listen and learn. Along with this and working within a Dutch and German organisation gave me a totally different aspect & working ethic, which I feel developed my business knowledge and attitude to being a hard worker always giving 100% to the job no matter how big or small, and being very much appreciated and acknowledged by all my colleagues from the Top to the bottom.

After leaving Shipping & Forwarding to have a family I later took up a position as a PA to a family owned local Turf Accountant in an administration role and further expanded my knowledge working on accounts and payroll - another different direction but a very enjoyable and varied role.

Whilst in this position the opportunity arose to go and work for a family friend to run his Print Company (Jadan Press) as he was emigrating to Australia with his family. Two years after running the Company I bought Jadan Press Limited from the previous owner.

Having done a five year part time business degree in 1998, undertaken to fulfil a dream I never attempted when leaving school due to lack of confidence. Gaining my degree in 2003 to owning a business that I originally had no experience or knowledge in would have been something I could only think about in my wildest dreams.

I’ve met many interesting people along (still on) my journey and have a vast knowledge of Business and within different industries, loving a challenge & from an early age been told by my Mum there is no such word as Can’t…
