Jim Gabbitas

Jim is a Chartered Civil & Structural Engineer and Managing Director of GGP Consult.

Having worked as a Principal Engineer for several major Consulting Engineers in the Yorkshire and Humber region he recognised the need for a more personal approach to clients and better value for money for the consultancy services offered.

He set up Gabbitas Gill Partnership Limited (trading as GGP Consult) in 1994 and has built the company up to be one of the leading Engineering Consultancies in the Yorkshire/Humber region with offices in Hull, York and Doncaster.

The company offers consulting services in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, Surveying and Project Management with a team of over 120 specialist staff who carry out projects throughout the UK and overseas.

The company has a leading presence in the Rail & Power Sectors, with three of our Engineers (from nineteen across the UK) being awarded the accolade of Carbon Champions by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and being recognised for their efforts to reduce carbon emissions in infrastructure and their role in sustainable energy and energy storage.

GGP Consult has a strong commitment to employing and training young people from the Yorkshire and Humber area and as such, offers apprenticeships and further education training as an incentive to its growing workforce.

Having doubled in size over the last four years the company has plans to continue this growth into new sectors.
