Furqan Alamgir is the Founder and CEO of homegrown technology firm Connexin, based in Hull, specialising in smart technologies and the Internet of Things.

Whilst studying medicine at Imperial College, London, and attaining both an MBBS and BSc Hons in Cardiovascular Sciences, Furqan went on and founded Connexin in 2006, developing the next generation of national voice and data telecom platforms.

Currently Furqan leads an experienced board and a dynamic team designing, delivering and deploying smart infrastructure to support smart city solutions, building multiple carrier grade metropolitan networks in the UK.

An active entrepreneur and an ambassador for Imperial College, Furqan has given talks and presentations to entrepreneurs across the country including University of Oxford and The London School of Economics.

Furqan has also been appointed as an ambassador to the Goldman Sachs High Growth Business Development Program in association with the Said Business School & University of Oxford.

Furqan also worked as a Surgical Registrar in the NHS, which has led him to believe technology will play a huge part in how healthcare is delivered over the coming years. He has a special interest in telehealth and the use of IT and, in particular, the internet in providing 21st Century health care.
