In March 2020, as the world was locked down by a global pandemic, we acted quickly to find new ways to deliver help, support, events and programmes. We immediately developed and put into action a COVID Intensive Care plan which we continued to deliver throughout the pandemic. Full details of the plan are included in our annual report which can be found via this link https://heyzine.com/flip-book/d692c2e0d9.html
We worked hard throughout the 2020/21 year to give 100% commitment to our members, despite lockdowns and ever changing COVID-19 restrictions. Communication was key and the content of our programmes and events dealt head on to overcome the onslaught of challenges and disruption faced by our members and key partners and their businesses.
Throughout the pandemic, FEO has been grateful for the continuing financial and business support from our local Key Partners.Their support has enabled FEO to have a greater impact within the region and we appreciate all that Cranswick plc, Gosschalks, Horncastle Group, MKM Building Supplies, Smailes Goldie and The One Point do for FEO. We are also very pleased to continue our partnership with The University of Hull and continue to have an office base within The Business School.
Our social media platforms also play an important role in helping us to be regarded as the voice of the Private Sector in Hull and East Yorkshire. You can find and follow us at @FEOHull on all of the social media platforms.
2020/21 has been an enormously challenging year for all business owners, so I feel especially proud that despite the double whammy of Brexit and COVID, our Members and Key Partners have continued to step up to help others.
This was recognised with FEO winning the Yorkshire Post’s Excellence in Business Community Award in November 2020. Enormous thanks must go to all FEO stakeholders who continue to give their time and resources so generously. On a personal note, I was delighted to be presented with a High Sheriff Award in 2020 for my contribution to supporting greater Entrepreneurship in the County.
