Scott Pilgrim

Cofounder & Director,

BIMsense Ltd

The construction industry is ripe for disruption, my Massive-Audacious-Daft idea, is to help reinvent it!

After realising I was probably the most OCD bricklayer on Earth (and therefore the slowest!), I pursued a career within construction that better suited my pursuit of perfection, ideas generation and a general ‘appetite for disruption’.

I’m proud to have experienced many building trades, working for some great contractors on some of the most successful projects in our region.

Fusing this experience with an obsession for creativity and innovation, I positioned myself amongst the technical sector at Hull’s own C4DI (Centre for Digital Innovation). Here, I look to promote ‘Community IQ’ and the cross-pollination of multi-sector ideas, with the aim of developing solutions that have the potential to question, innovate and disrupt the construction industry.

Along with my cofounder, we explored and experimented with Building Information Modelling (BIM) before establishing BIMsense Ltd. BIM is a radically new way of building in which it promotes better communication and collaboration among project teams, helping reduce risks and captures essential data associated with buildings.

Our first customer; a large University estate, instructed us to consult on £600m worth of construction work over a 4-year period. Such is our ongoing success with this client, we restructured our focus to concentrate solely on developing innovative solutions and delivering ‘BIM for Estates’. Watch out for the book…no seriously!

In our first year of business we were named the 2017 Digital Awards ’Best Digital Start-Up’ along with being highly commended by the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce at their 2017 Business Awards, with my cofounder also picking up ‘Business Person of The Year’.

I’m always happy to help new entrepreneurs form their own ideas and provide start-up and business development advice no matter what sector they specialise in, so feel free to make contact.
