Graham Jenkinson

Managing Director,

Jenko Limited

Graham is the founder of Jenko and he set up the business in 1984 after a period of freelancing in the retail display sector. A series of strategic sales letters created an opening with DIY chain B&Q and Graham put together a team to manage the project across the UK. Partner, Colin Wilson came on board in 1988 and, following incorporation, the organisation went from strength to strength. Initially covering the retail signage and point of sale sectors, Graham and Colin focussed on developing the creative aspect of Jenko with the setting up of Artemis – a small design studio that specialised in brand identity creation and promotion and marketing projects. In 1996, Jenko acquired the former Hull Savings/TSB bank along Hessle Road and the duo set about consolidating their offer focussing on marketing and design to feed their production teams with projects such as print management, large format printing and exhibition design and portable display products.

Graham is a writer and handles the copywriting at Jenko as well as bolstering the creative team. He mentors the creative process at the company and believes in full team approach to all of their branding and marketing projects. He is also an accredited NVQ Workplace Assessor and IoEE mentor.

Graham is also a Common Purpose Matrix graduate, a project that focussed on delivering change for the geographical area that we live and work in. This experience shaped his values and attitude towards an integrated way of working and collaborating.

Graham trained as a person-centred counsellor during this period and is former Chair at Survivors Hull & East Riding where he is still a committed trustee and volunteer therapist. He is currently serving as Vice Chair at Cornerhouse (Yorkshire) where he has been involved for over twenty years. He has served as Vice Chair at Hull Homeless and Rootless Project as well as numerous voluntary sector organisations. He is a keen mentor and won a Gold Award for his contribution to Young Enterprise and he is also an avid supporter of Youth Enterprise in Hull.
