Marie, having joined Blue Castle Group in 2011 as an administrator, was appointed CEO in 2014 and in 2020 become the majority shareholder following a successful MBO.

The Blue Castle Group includes:

  • Blue Castle Business Services Ltd – a waste brokerage business established in 2002
  • Blue Castle (Energy) Ltd – an energy brokerage business established in 2009
  • BC Granulation Ltd – established in 2021, BC Granulation operates two recycling facilities in Hull, where they process previously unrecyclable composite materials to create high value output material that can be re-used back in the industry from which it originated
  • Power Knot (UK) Ltd – established in 2021 Power Knot offers data driven technology to food waste producers in the form of sale/rental of aerobic food digesters imported from the US manufacturer.

    In 2019 Marie became an Alumni for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses UK programme, which has allowed her the opportunity to really focus on what it is Blue Castle are trying to achieve, and what sort of company they want to be moving forwards. “I was encouraged to look back over the course of my life to find out exactly who I am, what I believe in and how to make the company into something very special. We are on a journey”.
