Nicholas Oughtred

Nicholas is the great, great grandson of the business’s founder William Jackson.

He is a graduate of Stirling University where he obtained a BA Honours in Business Studies with Economics.

He joined the William Jackson Group in 1983 holding various roles before being appointed Group Company Secretary in 2003. He was made a Director of the Group Board in June 2006 prior to becoming Chairman in January 2007.

The group has historically been quite diversified but now comprises a portfolio of food businesses operating in different sectors. Whilst the business has operations around the country, the roots are in Hull where it began in 1851.

Nicholas’s involvement has covered a wide variety of activities including chairing a board, shaping values, family business governance, acquisitions, disposals and business strategy.
