FEOignition Spring 2019 takes off again this February..

Our FEO Getting Started Group will be delivering the latest series of our popular FREE FEOignition programme this Spring. Ignition has been designed to encourage new business owners to confidently get their businesses off the ground with the help and guidance of successful peers who have been there and done it themselves.

Hosted by The Sewell Group at The Sewell Studio in Hull, over 7 Wednesday evening sessions, the programme is presented by some of our region’s top entrepreneurs who give their time and experience to help start-ups avoid some of the pitfalls and problems that occur in the early stages of running a business

FEOignition includes real life business stories, warts and all, and those taking part in the programme have access to invaluable tried and tested hints and tips from experienced local business owners including Jonathan Elvidge, Antony Eltherington, Mike Rice, Joyce Clappison and many more.

FEO Member & Director Jonathan Elvidge (previous owner of The Gadget Shop and Red5 and now Co Founder of Moodbeam) helped to design the programme and comments “It is fantastic to see such enthusiastic start-ups each time. There can be no doubt that businesses that might have otherwise stalled or failed will develop and prosper as a direct result of this programme. There can be no better reason to be involved, and for anyone starting up, I can’t think of a better source of information, inspiration, and support.”

Delegates also receive help and advice from FEO Key Partners who include Cranswick PLC, Gosschalks, Hugh Rice, KCOM, Lloyds Bank, Smailes Goldie and Strawberry about funding their ventures, managing cash flow, gathering critical information about intellectual property and goal setting for the future.

FEO Chief Executive Jan Brumby takes up the story:

“This is our 13th Ignition series and because we have the freedom to tweak it year on year, it can always match the changing needs of start up entrepreneurs. What makes ignition unique is that it’s delivered by people with real life experiences – there’s certainly no chance of death by powerpoint! Also, it’s critical that new business owners are exposed to positive, can-do role models who will boost their confidence and mindset when it comes to dealing with set-backs and problems - of which there will be many!

Spring 2018 ignition delegate Rebecca Dymond, Director of Rebecca Dymond Accountancy comments I have to say the FEO ignition programme is one of the best things I have ever done. Like minded business people and entrepreneurs sharing their experiences, the highs and the lows. Failure is not an option. Encouragement is definitely here!
Becoming a start up business is one of the scariest things you will ever do but everyone here supports you and helps you and gives you the drive to succeed. Everyone knows someone who can help you.
There are positive and kind people in the world and lots of them are here. You’ll meet some amazing people and also make friends that will stay with you throughout your journey.
